The quest to find the last surviving Siberian crane transforms into a profound spiritual journey for the filmmaker.

For the past 15 years, Omid, a male crane, has made a solitary journey from Siberia to Iran, stopping in Azerbaijan. As the last Western Siberian Crane in the wild, Omid’s survival is crucial to preventing the species’ extinction.

The director travels to Azerbaijan’s national reserve, where Omid was last seen, to await his arrival. But the crane called Omid (hope) does not come. Despite many believing Omid is dead, the director remains hopeful, continuing the search with bird watchers and a film crew. As days pass without a sighting, the director imagines conversations with the bird, leading to tension with the producer. Reflecting on the myth of the Phoenix, the director embarks on a parallel spiritual journey, exploring themes of existence and unity through a cosmopolitan lens, ultimately performing these ideas in a ritualistic manner.
